An extensive review of Linux Mint 6 "Felicia"

I have been using Linux Mint 6 "Felicia" on my laptop for a couple of months now. The word "Felicia" is the Latin female version of Felix meaning happiness according to Wikipedia. I have experienced happiness using Linux Mint, much more than when I was using Ubuntu on my laptop.

Linux Mint exclusive software

Mint includes many pieces of it's own software, making it stand out from the crowd. This makes Linux Mint more than "Ubuntu + codecs".

Mandriva 2009.0 review

Today Mandriva released a new version called "2009.0". This features the new kernel 2.6.27, KDE 4.1 or GNOME 2.24, OpenOffice.org 3.0 and Firefox 3.0. It also boasts better compatibility with netbooks such as the Asus EEE PC, the Acer Aspire One and the MSI Wind.

Pardus 2008 - Where were you?

Arch Linux has been having hard lockups recently, so I decided to try out a new distro. I had a look at Distrowatch for a different distro to try. I'm very picky with my distros...here's what I said about each:

  • Ubuntu - It's Gnome...
  • openSUSE - Tried it, I don't really like the package management
  • Fedora - Too Gnome orientated
  • Mint - Gnome orientated
  • PCLinuxOS - Way outdated
  • Debian - No updater for KDE or Xfce - It's very Gnome dependent

So this is Google Chrome...

I was on Windows and noticed that Google had already released the beta for Google Chrome. So I thought, why not try it out?
